Souk: Feasting at the mezze table

Author(s): Nadia Zerouali; Merijn Tol

Middle Eastern

The souk, or marketplace, is the beating heart of Arabic cuisine and culture--this book celebrates the generosity of this rich food culture.

Imagine a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon with long tables casually filled with delicious mezze - cold and hot sharing plates that together form a delicious and inviting meal in themselves. Here, family and friends enjoy the abundance of the sharing table - from carrots with arach and lemon limonade, fresh almonds and dishes of silky-soft hummus to fried kibbeh balls and tabouleh or fattoush.

Nadia and Merijn have created more than 100 recipes to fill the table with their version of a mezze feast - traditional but with a contemporary twist. In addition to these delicious recipes you will find personal anecdotes about family, friends and memories. The mezze tradition equals generosity, generosity and cosiness - and that's what you can see and try again in this book. Yalla!
